You shouldn’t date or become serious friends/partners with someone if you can’t stomach the thought of being stuck in a car or train with them for 16 hours.
Here’s my logic:
You should be able to work together to solve unexpected problems like fixing a flat tire or getting lost in an unfamiliar station
You should feel comfortable and safe enough around this person that you can sit in comfortable silence
You should be able to keep each other interested and deal with each others boredom in a healthy way
If you’re gonna form a long term partnership with someone you should probably be able to tolerate each other while locked in a small box for a few hours
These tags are hilarious even though I don’t think you intended them to be.
*pulls European closer* The most populous countries in the world are China, India, the United States, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Brazil in that order, with these seven nations alone making up 48.16% of the world population. You may note with the aid of a map that many of these nations are quite large, and would take several days of travel to go across either in cars or on boats. Almost half of the world’s population lives in places where you can travel in a cramped vehicle for days and still be within the country. Your worldview is limited and Europe is a tiny outlier in travel time and standards for international relations.
There are now videos of Palestinians protesting in the streets and chanting “We want to live free. Leave us alone, Hamas. You sold our blood for dollars.”
Hamas is not Palestine. Palestinians are being used and exploited by Hamas. Hamas is killing their own people. If you actually care about freeing Palestine, free them from terrorism.
I haven’t been on tumblr in ages but someone brought this post (and another) to my attention so here’s your story:
For starters, yes it’s real. The movie is called Merry Kissmas and you can see us in the opening credits. It’s a cheesy romcom christmas movie you can find on Netflix. I watched it, it’s so cheesy lol.
What happened was I was staying in this hotel in Downtown LA for Anime Expo and on my way back to the room, this film crew approached us and asked us to be extras in his movie because “it’ll be funny!” Sure why not! So it was totally intentional.
I still cosplay Fenris from time to time but I’m more active on my Facebook page if you want to find me/credit me!
I hope the Fenris cosplayer is doing well. (They haven’t posted since 2017)
President Jimmy Carter signing the House of Representative resolution for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) before it was sent to the states for ratification in October 1978. The Equal Rights Amendment was supported by those who believed that women should have equal status to men in the United States; unfortunately, it failed to gain ratification by the required number of states and therefore was not made into law. The states that failed to ratify: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, and Virginia.
Believing in the Free Palestine cause ≠ antisemitic
BUT ALSO
A random ass Jew just living their life oceans away has nothing to do with the Isreal-Palestine conflict
Palestinian Jews exist
Jews that support Palestine exist (I am one of them)
Calling out ACTUAL antisemitism ≠ supporting Isreal
ALL of the above. Read it. And read it again.
And also. If you say, “Those Jews (who were murdered) got what they deserved,” you are an antisemite. And as a Jew, I will call your shit out. And then I will block you.
Call out the Israeli government. Call it out for its atrocities. Call out Netanyahu for his war crimes.
Do NOT spread hatred to Jewish people.
If you do, you are an antisemite and a white supremacist, and you will have to live with that on your conscience.
Do NOT tell Jews “go back to where you came from.” Jews are indigenous to that area of the Levant, what used to be called Judea before the Romans changed the name of the area to Palestine.
The Semitic people that the Jews are descended from have been in that area since the Bronze Age.
And Jews have ALWAYS been in Palestine since it’s been Palestine. And during that time, we have lived alongside Muslims, our brothers.
Jews and Muslims were living side by side in Palestine during the Crusades, and they fought together against the Christian invaders. And the Christians murdered Jews and Muslims alike in wave after wave of violence, just as the Holy Roman Empire was murdering the Jews in European diaspora.
And also, if you say “go back to where you came from” to Jewish people from European diaspora whose ancestors came to Palestine in the late 15th century to escape the Spanish expulsion of the Jews, or in the 19th century to escape the Russian pogroms, or in the 1930s to escape rising European antisemitism, or in the 1940s after 6 million Jews were murdered by the Nazis — what you are telling those Jews is to go back and be slaughtered by the Inquisition, go back to the Pale of Settlement, go back and be murdered during Kristallnacht, go back to the gas chambers.
Learn history. Don’t repeat soundbites you hear on social media. And always remember who the real enemy is. Not the Jews. Not the Muslims.
The real enemy are the United States antisemitic CHRISTIAN politicians who stood by and did NOTHING as 6 million Jews were murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust, and then used that Jewish slaughter as an opportunity to turn the Jewish ancestral homeland into a landing strip for the US.
